     YouTube.com - MINI TSUNAMI KIHEI MAUI HAWAII 3 / 11 / 2011           Comments: FOOTAGE TAKEN ON 3/11/11. ONE DAY AFTER THE 8.9 EARTHQUAKE OF JAPAN. MIKE & CATHY WENT TO CHECK OUT A MINI TSUNAMI DOWN AT THE OCEAN LESS THAN A MILE FROM THEIR HOME. THIS WAS ONE OF A SERIES OF SMALL SURGES THAT DAY. THE LARGER WAVES HAD COME DURING THE NIGHT IN WHICH WE EVACUATED TO HIGHER GROUND. HOW AMAZING TO SEE HOW FAST THE OCEAN RECEDES & RETURNS BACK TO THE BEACHES OF KIHEI. SOME AREAS HAD MINOR DAMAGE. WE CONSIDER OURSELVES VERY LUCKY THIS WASN'T A LOT WORSE.
