     YouTube.com - Carl Fenton - "Honolulu Eyes" (1920)           Comments: Honolulu Eyes Music by Violinsky Performed by Carl Fenton and His Orchestra Recorded December 1920 "Carl Fenton" was actually Walter G. Haenschen (1889 - 1980) a bandleader of the 1920s and 1930s. He started recording for Brunswick around 1920 and continued throug the 1920s. The band played ballrooms and theatres and on early radio. Backed by Bing Crosby on nightly Cremo Cigar radio show on CBS late 1931 - early 1932 with good band often including Joe Venuti, Eddie Lang, Manny Klein, Phil Napololeon, Jerry Colonna, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Frank Signorelli, Lennie Hayton. In 1935-36 played on New York radio; in late 1936-37 had show with singer Sid Garry.
